Freemax Fireluke 2 - Mesh Subohm Tank

The Freemax Fireluke 2 is an update to the graffiti edition of the tank featured on the Fireluke Twister vape starter kit. It has the same basic shape but this time it comes in a solid metal color instead of the highly stylized paint job but still has all the performance you expect from the Fireluke subohm family.

Measuring in with a 24mm diameter, essentially the standard size these days, this tank will look good on pretty much any vape mod without overhang. Having stainless accent rings on the tank help with color matching if that is your thing.

The gold plated 510 pin is quite short, almost flush to the threading and isn't adjustable.

Filling the Fireluke 2 with your favorite e-liquid is quite simple with the slide top fill system. Just press firmly at the high visibility red indicator dot to reveal the fill port. The slide top has a fairly stiff amount of tension, preventing any accidental openings.

If you look at the top view photo in the gallery you will see a small hole that can be seen through the drip tip. This small hole allows for venting to provides problem free filling.

As you can see, Freemax decided to go with the 5ml bubble glass pre-installed. Instead of a straight edged spare, a second bubble glass is included. Removing the glass for cleaning was a bit of a chore due to a tight fit between the top o-ring and glass.

The metal 810 drip has two small tension o-rings on the stem for retention. The metal drip has a cool, temperature wise, mouth feel but has the same thin edge as the original Freemax Fireluke M.

Personally, I found the edge of the tip to be strange feeling and I wish it came with an extra delrin drip tip but who doesn't have plenty of those laying around?

At the bottom of the tank are the large dual airflow ports and the surrounding airflow control (AFC) ring, which is fantastic. The AFC has the perfect amount of tension with an engraved edge for grip and hard stops.

Keep the air flow wide open for mega airflow but I found half open is the sweet spot for a dense flavorful vape, as usual. The airflow is some what turbulent, as is the case with most mesh subohm tanks.

The heart of the tank is the coil system, which uses the Twister coils. Freemax refers to the two included mesh subohm coils as TX1 and TX2. The number at the end is the number of mesh strips that are in each coil.

The TX2 has a the chainlink or net style mesh where the TX1 has the more familiar standard. mesh.

Triple mesh (TX3) and quadruple (TX4) coils are available for separate purchase.

Freemax designed these coils to use a new type of wicking material -- a blend of 90% tea fiber cotton and 10% organic cotton.

Each of the coils perform quite admirably as is expected from Freemax mesh coils.

With the dual mesh coil, the vape was a bit warmer, a slight edge on flavor and a lower operating wattage than the single coil version. The single coil version performs quite well but provides more airflow while still keeping a saturated vape.

The flavor produced is crisp and clean right from the start. The mesh heats up fast and produces lots of vapor. Chain vaping is no problem thanks to huge wicking ports and the cotton blend.

There are plenty of coil options for the Fireluke 2. It can take the new TX series coil as well as the original M series coil for the original Fireluke. If you are into temperature control, there are SS316 mesh coil options available.

Overall, the Freemax Fireluke 2 is a fantastic mesh subohm tank with crisp, clean flavor, plenty of vapor production, several widely available coil options, and is easy to fill.
